I am a 3rd generation photographer, and I grew up discovering the world thru a lens. Photography to me is not just worked; it is my foremost passion in life. I grew up in arctic Finland, a country where light - the medium a photographer works in - is an ever present source of inspiration, may it be the golden nights of the midnight sun, the bright reflection off the white snow illuminating the dark winter nights or the Aurora borealis dancing in the sky. My style is essentially based on the appreciation of simple and clean visuals typical for my Finnish heritage. Yet, I complement this with influences from my life and travels around the globe.
After graduating from The Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration with a Masters of Science (Econ.) degree, I moved to Singapore to set out on an international career. This allowed me to live and travel extensively in one of the most photogenic and colorful areas of the world, South East Asia. My time interacting and living with people of different Asian cultures , as well as my travels in South and Central America and Oceania, has helped me appreciate a more intricate and ornate beauty found in Southeast and East Asia, in addition to the clean and simple forms typically pleasing to me.
In 1998, adventure took me across the globe to live on the small Caribbean Island of St. Croix. What was to be a one year adventure to see the Caribbean has become many and St. Croix has become my base. You will find me with camera in hand, be it on a beautiful beach photographing a couple joining their lives in marriage, under the surface photographing Neptune’s garden, at a concert or sports event or on a path in a remote part of the world where the camera still is considered as the magic object that we sometimes forget it is.
I do enjoy and welcome select photographic and journalist assignments and am ready and able to travel on short notice. I specialize in underwater photography, travel, sports, events and wedding photography. I take on assignments selectively and prioritize projects driven by creative passionate people.
